A chance encounter that changed everything
It wasn’t a grand plan or a lifelong dream. Megumi was between chapters – taking a break, searching for her next passion, and by her own admission, starting to get a little bored, when she ran into a friend on a commute. That friend offered her the chance to lead a Spanish-language anime tour across Tokyo. She’d never done anything like it before. She said yes anyway.

Nearly three years later, Megumi leads The Dragon Trip’s Japan adventures – taking travellers from the neon sensory overload of Akihabara and Shibuya through to the quieter rhythms of Kyoto, Osaka, onsen towns, and the shadow of Mount Fuji. What started as a happy accident has become, in her own words, “going out to play”.
